3rd Plenary meeting of MODERATOR in Ioannina on June 18-19

On 18–19 June 2025, the MODERATOR consortium gathered in Ioannina, Greece, for the project’s 18-month (3rd) Plenary Meeting, hosted by our partners at Electra Energy Cooperative.

Bringing together partners from across Europe, the meeting provided an important opportunity to review progress, coordinate next steps, and strengthen collaboration across technical and strategic areas of the project.

Over the two days, the consortium engaged in focused discussions on:
✔ Prototype development and validation
✔ Immersion cooling systems for energy-efficient data centres
✔ Waste heat recovery and sustainability impact
✔ System optimisation and reuse potential
✔ Communication, exploitation, and social science integration

The meeting also provided space to reflect on the broader environmental and societal challenges linked to the digital transition, a topic at the heart of MODERATOR’s mission to create greener, smarter data centre solutions.

We extend our thanks to Electra Energy Cooperative for hosting the consortium in Ioannina and for facilitating a productive and inspiring meeting. With our prototype development well underway, the MODERATOR team is motivated to take the next steps toward delivering real impact in sustainable digital infrastructure.
